'Got to' - Nottingham Forest fans pile in after defeat to Luton Town

Nottingham Forest fans have had their say as the Reds fell to a 1-0 defeat at home to Luton Town.

The Reds were punished for not taking their chances as Ryan Tunnicliffe's goal proved the difference.

It meant a three-match unbeaten run came to an end for Chris Hughton’s side as they suffered a frustrating night.

Here’s what supporters have been saying on social media.

@PeterOHanrahaH: Think our performances are alright, but just dropping points at the moment where we should be getting either 3 or a draw tonight at least. #nffc

Paul Hart on 'losing the dressing room' being a football myth

@joeyyandell: If anyone believes we’re safe already, think again #nffc

@cwis75: Same old story ... not taking our chances . So poor in the final 3rd . #nffc

@NFFCRED: Need goalscorer in summer window

@IanTrem: it doesn't matter how good your crosses are, if you only have one striker in the box against three defenders, you're very rarely going to score. Luton had two guys attacking the box at a cross, Swansea had a guy attacking the box at a cross. Both games lost. #nffc

@AdamBradbury83: A flat performance from Forest tonight after a great run of results. We move on and go again at the weekend! #NFFC

@dj_zotov: Got to be more clinical when on top. Bossed it for an hour, no goal. Then bang! Sucker punch. #NFFC

The Reds had much the better of the first half as Glenn Murray forced Sam Sluga into a save early on with a header as Hughton’s side searched for a quick breakthrough.

Joe Lolley, who was handed a rare start, also warmed the palms of the goalkeeper before Murray scooped over the bar from a lovely cross from Anthony Knockaert.

Forest kept probing for an opener as Filip Krovinovic lashed wide from distance but for all of their domination, they entered the break on level terms.

Luton were more potent after the interval as Elijah Adebayo fluffed his lines from close range in what was a let-off for the hosts.

Forest quickly returned fire when James Garner latched on to a dummy by Krovinovic only to see his powerful low drive turned around the post.

But Luton eventually took the lead when Tunnicliffe snuck in unmarked to meet a cross from Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu.

From that point on Forest toiled in an attempt to break down the Hatters as Hughton sent on Sammy Ameobi, Alex Mighten and Lyle Taylor.

But the trio did not have the desired impact as Luton comfortably saw out the final stages to secure all three points.
