On September 11th I posted the following question and invited the mayor's office to respond:
At yesterday's question time the mayor said there would be redundancies as a result of the restructuring of City Hall outlined in his statement Organising for Delivery. Can the mayor rule out any of the deputy mayors and directors among his present mayoral team being among those to lose their jobs?
Yes, it was a wind-up question, yes, there was a little more to it too and, yes, I have been told things off the record. Trouble is, though, if you decline to release even a bland and routine statement in response to such a question, it does nothing to stop people gossiping...
