Gossip Girl star Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds have announced that they will be donating $1million to two different US charities amid the coronavirus crisis.
Speaking on Instagram, Blake, the mum-of-three urged people to help where possible amid the coronavirus outbreak. She said: "Covid-19 has brutally impacted older adults, and low income families. Ryan and I are donating $1million to be split between @feedingamerica and @foodbankscanada. If you can give , these orgs need our help.
"Though we must be distancing ourselves to protect those who don't have the opportunity to self quarantine, we can stay connected. Remember the lonely and isolated. Facetime, Skype, make a video.
"Remember the love that can travel through all this. Communities are stepping up - shopping for the elderly, making lunches for the children. We can all do something for one another, even if that's simply staying home.
And finishing off her post with some light hearted banter, Blake added: "Sending so much love. Now can someone please tell Ryan that "emotional distancing" from his mother in law is not a thing. Nothing can save him."
Blake Lively and husband Ryan Reynolds who have three children together, have said they want to help where they can and are urging everyone to do their bit to reduce harm.
And Ryan also shared the news online, while poking fun at pal Hugh Jackman, he posted: "Covid-19 has brutally impacted older adults and low income families. Blake and I are donating $1million to be split between Feeding America and Food Banks Canada. If you can give, these orgs need our help.
"Take care of your bodies and hearts. Leave room from joy. Call someone who's isolated and might need connection. (Hugh Jackman's # is 1-555-HUGH)."
Blake is best known for her leading role in Gossip Girl as Serena Serena Van Der Woodsen and husband Ryan plays Wade Wilson in Deadpool.
