An Edinburgh actor has been confirmed for the reboot of iconic American drama series Gossip Girl.
Fans of the show were left devastated when it ended in 2007 after six successful seasons, but now we all have something to look forward to again, because the Upper East Siders are back - and one of them is actually from the east coast of Scotland.
Actor Thomas Doherty, 25, from Edinburgh, was spotted sitting on the famous steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City as the new cast of the reboot was spotted for the first time.
The star will be a familiar face amongst parents as he is best known for his role as Sean Matthews on Disney channel show The Lodge.
Doherty comes from a musical theatre background and left Edinburgh's Royal High School early to join the MGA Academy of Performing Arts in the capital.
Before he became a huge Disney star, he had a stint waiting tables at Tigerlily on George Street where he worked while attending auditions and getting involved in Edinburgh Fringe shows.
He made his big break after being cast as Sean Matthews in The Lodge and later went on to star in Disney's Descendants 2, where he played Harry Hook.
The Edinburgh actor is not too bad to look at either, and in August 2017 he was named one of the 50 fittest boys in the world by Vogue magazine.

Thomas already has a whopping 4.6 million followers on Instagram and it looks like he is destined for even more fame when he makes his debut on the new generation of Gossip Girl, which is expected to hit screens in 2021.
