Gosford Castle in Co Armagh where Games of Thrones scenes were filmed for sale

If you're a Game of Thrones fan and DIY savvy, this could be the perfect property for you.

A major section of Gosford Castle in Markethill, Co Armagh is up for sale.

The Grade A listed building became part of the Game of Thrones legacy after it was used for the exterior scenes in the third season and the execution of Rickard Karstark, who is beheaded by Robb Stark.

Built in the mid-1800s by the 2nd Earl of Gosford, this treasure has already been treated to renovation into luxury apartments, Belfast Live reports.

In 2006, the castle was bought by Gosford Castle Development Limited who put forward a £4m (€4.63m) proposal to restore the Grade A listed building into 23 luxury homes.

The restoration was undertaken by artisans and craftsmen with a focus on retaining the character and historic integrity of the castle.

Particular care was taken to use existing features such as staircases and vaulted ceilings and even to use original colour schemes wherever possible.

And now an other portion of the castle is being marketed for sale.
