Gorgie farm armed robbery as thug swiped cash from Edinburgh charity

A man has been arrested after a callus weapon-wielding thug threatened a man and stole cash from a Scots charity farm.

The attacker brandished the weapon and terrified the victim before swiping a three-figure sum at Gorgie Farm in Edinburgh on July 10.

The urban farm, in the south-west of the city, is operated by education and social care charity, LOVE.

Police confirmed that a 52-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

Officers thanked the public for their help with the probe into the vicious attack.

He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court at a later date.

A spokesperson from Edinburgh Police Division said: "Police Scotland can confirm that a 52 year old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an incident which saw a man threatened with a weapon and a three figure sum of cash stolen.

"He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court at a later date.

"We would like to thank the public for their assistance following our appeal for information."
