Gorgeous food market well worth the short drive from Liverpool

Weekends are made for indulging in gorgeous treats and there’s a food market not far away that people in Liverpool are making the journey to, despite it being outside of Merseyside.

Selling everything from cheese, pies, fruit, cakes and sweets, to jewellery, handbags, clothes and more the market has gained a huge following, attracting visitors from across the north west.

The venue is Warrington Market, which is less than an hour’s drive from Liverpool city centre on a good run.

Based in Time Square, the purpose built, state-of-the-art building features a combination of traditional features and contemporary charm, with the two-storey building surrounded by the hustle and bustle of Warrington town centre.

Across its two floors, which includes a mezzanine, visitors can pick up almost anything you could think of, from food and drink, and makeup and perfume, to even musical instruments, key cuttings and shoe repairs.

Among the local traders are Zack’s Pet Shop, Nosey Parkers Sweet Stall, Blooming Lovely, Mullally’s Barbers and many more. You can see the full list here .

Warrington Market is spaced across two floors and is home to the Cookhouse (Warrington Market)

Warrington Market is also home to the ‘Cookhouse’, which is home to 11 worldwide food outlets and two independent bars

Alongside the two bars, there is a huge variety of hot and cold dishes on offer, with an inside dining area and outdoor terrace. It can even be separated from the main market hall to host special events.

Food traders available to discover at the market include East Asian fusion restaurant Eastern Point, Italian eatery Cotto Pasta Kitchen and the sweet treat-obsessed Dark Side of the Spoon. The full list is here .

For anyone planning to make the trip, the market still has a number of safety procedures in place, including the use of queuing systems, sanitising stations and contactless payments.

Warrington Market is open from 9am - 5pm Monday to Saturday and every second Sunday of the month from 10am - 4pm.

The Cookhouse has different opening times due to individual traders.
