Gordon Strachan's Celtic and Dundee dual role impact on Dens Park club described by youth chief

Dundee youth chief Stephen Wright has clarified Gordon Strachan's position at the club while he has been jointly working as a consultant for Celtic.

The former Hoops boss was appointed a consultant for his previous employers this summer.

This prompted some raised eyebrows and an SFA probe into a potential conflict of interest.

However Wright claims the ex-Scotland manager has not missed a beat at Dens Park and continues to do his role as effectively as possible despite splitting his time.

The youth coach also revealed Strachan had a conversation with him before taking on the Parkhead position and promised he would continue working to a high standard.

Speaking to the Dundee Courier, Wright said: "Gordon is still very much involved.

“He spoke to me when the Celtic thing came up and assured me he’d still be doing everything he does for us to help the coaches and the players.

“He’s been around, helping the coaches and it’s great for us. We learn so much from just an hour with Gordon Strachan on the training pitch.

“We are very lucky to have him around.”
