Gordon Ramsay wowed by Edinburgh 'ghost kitchen' Ozen as he travels to capital

An Edinburgh eatery has revealed they were visited today (April 25) by none other than TV chef Gordon Ramsay.

After launching as a ghost kitchen just last week, Ozen, an Asian inspired pop-up, have now been critiqued by one of food's most famous faces after both Gordon and his crew swung by for a bite.

Currently, filming for a new YouTube series, we doubt very highly that he was down there making 'idiot sandwiches' out of any of the chefs, as the dishes have gone down a storm since they opened this month.

From bao buns to Korean fried cauliflower, you can find our full review of Ozen here.

Full of excitement, staff were finally able to post about the visit on their social media today after being contacted by Gordon's team earlier this week.

The series is expected to air later this year, however, Ozen revealed that they will be able to share a sneak peak of the visit next Friday for their customers.

Speaking about it on their social media, they said:

"This is beyond a dream and we’re all still in so much shock!

"The one and only Gordon Ramsay has been to Ozen and tried the food and he absolutely loved everything.

The production/film crew are using the footage for a YouTube series that is being released later this year however next week we’ll be releasing a sneak peak of the visit with Gordon! Keep eyes peeled for next Friday."

Created by Chris Thomas, 23, and Mahdi Ben Hamou, AKA ‘Mezzo’, 25, the Edinburgh-born pair have described themselves as "food-obsessed", and describe their dream to bring some new tastes to the city.

Currently based at 52 Rose Street North Lane, Edinburgh, you can order Ozen for delivery via Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats, or book online for collection.
