Gordon Ramsay to open first Edinburgh restaurant at St Andrew Square

Gordon Ramsay is set to open his first restaurant in Edinburgh's city centre.

The Bread Street Kitchen will open in St Andrew Square in what was The Refinery – the first of the eateries to open outside London.

The Gordon Ramsay Restaurants group will establish the 7000 sq ft eatery in St Andrew Square, in the first and ground floors of the former Drake & Morgan venue.

This will be the third Bread Street Kitchen to open to diners, with restaurants currently in Southwark and St Paul's.

The restaurant will join the likes of Hawksmoor, The Ivy and Dishoom at the city centre location.

The brand offers all day dining inspired by some classic Gordon Ramsay dishes.

Andy Wenlock, chief executive at Gordon Ramsay Restaurants, said: “We have taken our time to look for the perfect location for our first Bread Street Kitchen and Bar outside of London and we are delighted with the site we have chosen in Edinburgh.

“Such a vibrant city with a cool food scene, it really feels like the perfect match for Bread Street Kitchen and Bar - all the team are looking forward to bringing this popular all day dining concept to our new neighbourhood guests later this year.”

Insider.co.uk reports that Savills advised the landlord, while Graeme Wait advised Gordon Ramsay Restaurants.

Stuart Moncur, head of national retail at Savills, added: “The fact that Gordon Ramsay Restaurants has chosen Scotland, and specifically St Andrews Square, to open its first restaurant outside of London is testament to the strength of both this city and more specifically this location.”
