Gordon Ramsay threatened with police by angry Cornwall resident over lockdown move

A neighbour of Scots TV chef Gordon Ramsay has threatened to report him to the police after his controversial relocation amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The star moved his family from their London home to one of their three bases in Cornwall to see out the UK lockdown period, which left locals fuming.

They had raised concerns about the dad-of-five and his brood risking the lives of vulnerable people and slammed him for travelling despite UK Government instructions to avoid unnecessary journeys and rural areas.

And they’ve taken to the Hells Kitchen host’s Twitter and Instagram pages to claim they are willing to go one step further, reports the Sun.

One angry neighbour said: “Don't you realise that by doing that you've possible brought the virus with you and because Cornwall is not your main residence, if you and your family get sick you will place yet more strain on an already fragile infrastructure.

"I'm reporting you to the police. What you've done is against the law and I hope they force you back to London."

One added: "Cornwall MPs have specifically asked for people with a second home not to do this. You might be rich and famous but you're not special and you're setting a bad example! Really disappointing.

One said: "Thank you @GordonRamsay For ignoring @GOVUK and traveling to your 2nd home in #cornwall. A holiday is not essential travel and you are not welcome at the moment. #StayHomeSaveLives

Another said: “Cornwall doesn't want you. My son is a chef in north Cornwall, don't think you would have a house there if you really knew how much you are despised locally."

Gordon, wife Tana and kids Meghan, 21, twins Holly and Jack, 20, Tilly, 17 and baby Oscar, one, have been holed up at their £4 million luxury property amid the health crisis, one of three they own in the area.

After being slammed for his move to his holiday home, the 53-year-old took a swipe at his ‘'whining' neighbours this week by revealing he had received a 'lovely, beautiful, generous little gift' of some homegrown asparagus from someone across the road.

The gloating chef said: "Now thats what I call love thy neighbour, see? That’s how you look after each other across these difficult times. There you go."
