Gordon Ramsay speaks out over fat shaming comments about daughter Tilly

Gordon Ramsay has spoken out after fat shaming comments were directed at his daughter Tilly following her appearance on Strictly.

The Hell's Kitchen chef admitted he is 'proud' of his daughter Tilly for standing up against the hurtful remarks made by LBC radio host Steve Allen, who has since apologised for them.

Steve had been talking about Strictly on his radio show when brought up 19-year-old Tilly's weight and branded her "chubby" as a result of her famous dad's cooking.

In his no holds barred chat during which also chatted about Tilly's forthcoming appearance on Australia's version of Celebrity Masterchef, he said he was "bored" of her.

Gordon said last night in an Instagram Live video: "It made me feel very proud that she stood up and said, ‘I’m not taking this'."

"She is 19-years of age for goodness sake – busting her a**e off and attending university by Zoom and learning the most extraordinary moves with Nikita."

"I think it was a breath of fresh air that level of standing up and saying, 'We’re not going to tolerate that'."

Gordon added: "It is a very sensitive issue whether you are a girl or a guy.

"I am someone who has always struggled with their weight.

"I have to train, we eat all day. I pick, we graze, we are around food 24/7.

"If we don’t train I’d be 350-400 pounds – so all credit to her."
