Gordon Ramsay slammed after pranking Starbucks employee over sandwich

Gordon Ramsay was criticised after he threw a freshly made sandwich away after playing a prank on a Starbucks employee

Whilst most fans on TikTok were amused by the prank itself, Gordon came under fire from people who felt he was being wasteful due to poverty in the world.

The Scots telly chef was filmed in his car as he told his social media followers: "When I’m driving all day... I need to have some fun."

Arriving at the Starbucks drive-thru, Gordon asks through the intercom system about their "amazing toasties."

After he's told what's available by the employee who doesn't recognise his voice, Gordon asks: "Is that the ham and cheese Jamie Oliver toastie from the Shell garage?"

After Gordon asks if the toastie has any tomatoes in it, the employee tells him that it's got mustard.

Trying to be difficult, Gordon asks: "Is it English or French mustard?"

When the employee replies 'American', Gordon says he's allergic to American.

When Gordon asks whether the chain offers takeaway, and the Starbucks employee says: "It's takeaway only." Gordon joked: "What's 10 takeaway from 100?"

As the employee laughs, Gordon goes to collect his toastie from the window hatch.

After taking it apart he says to the staff member: "It's only been toasted on one side. I asked for no mustard."

Chuckling, Gordon takes out a piece of stringy, melted cheese and eats it joking: "It looks like something out of Harry Snotter".

As he drives aways he makes a point of throwing the toastie into the bin on the street.

Although fans were amazed Gordon didn't shout or lose his temper, many began to criticise his actions in throwing away the food.

One said: 'Sorry Gordon but the ending made me mad."

Another added: "Ok...but don't be wasteful with food. It's insensitive. So many people are food insecure these days."

Another told him: "Never waste food."

And someone else said: "You could have given it to a homeless person rather than bin it."

Others said that although it might not be up to his five star expectations it was still perfectly edible with one adding: "That's a no for me. There are so many people who would love to have this food and you're just here wasting it."
