Gordon Ramsay's Bank Balance viewers 'switch off' as they blast 'unbearable rip off'

Gordon Ramsay's Bank Balance was panned by viewers this evening, some of whom switched off as they branded it a "rip off" of Million Pound Drop.

The usually sweary celebrity chef, 54, returned to screens with a brand new quiz show on the BBC which left viewers a little puzzled.

Its format saw a pair of contestants answer various questions so that they can place stacks of gold bars on a Balance Board.

The more bars they were able to build up, the more they were be able to win - which can escalate to a prize pot of £100,000.

Yet fans found it tough to watch, with some blasting it as "unbearable" and suggesting that it was too similar to hit Channel 4 show Million Pound Drop.

One tweeted: "This is a rip off of The Million Pound Drop #BankBalance."

While another wrote: "*switches off* #BankBalance."

A third fumed: "I've just switched off #BankBalance two of the most annoying contestants in the world and charmless bully boy Ramsay in charge... Give me the chase any day!"

"#BankBalance had enough already switching off this c**p!" another raged.

A viewer fumed: "#BankBalance nope, not getting any better and @GordonRamsay is no game show host. Switched off."

Another lamented: "#BankBalance an hour of my life i will never get back the auditions must of asked for annoying, loud, talk a lot about nothing in particular, I'm off now to take some paracetamol."
