Gordon Ramsay's Bank Balance viewers say show is 'rip off' of Channel 4 game

Gordon Ramsay went from chef to game show host with the launch of his new programme.

Bank Balance, which debuted on BBC One last night, is a high pressure game that could see contestants walk away with £100,000.

The celebrity chef acted as a coach for a pair of contestants who had to answer various questions in order to place different sizes of gold bars on a Balance Board.

The more bars, the more cash they were on track to win.

However, it's all about the balance and the more they manage to get, the riskier it becomes.

But while watching the show, many viewers took to social media as they recognised the format from elsewhere.

"This is a rip off of The Million Pound Drop #BankBalance," wrote one.

Another said: "I get it Gordon it’s like Million Pound Drop but with bricks? #BankBalance."

"Million pound drop but make it Jenga #BankBalance," a third suggested.

A fourth joked: "Of course I'm different to the million pound drop #BankBalance."

"Stolen the set from million pound drop? #BankBalance," another questioned.

The Million Pound Drop, later rebranded to The £100k drop, launched on Channel 4 back in 2010 with Davina McCall as host.

The game show stayed on air for five years before taking a three-year break and returned in 2018. It last aired in July 2019.
