Gordon Ramsay's £18.50 fish and chips is criticised as fans complain about 'tiny' portions

Gordon Ramsay has once again been slammed for his food after he posted a video of fish and chips from his restaurant which costs £18.50.

Fans blasted the Scots chef after saying the takeaway portion of the classic dish looked like a child's plate and were outraged by the cost.

The Hell's Kitchen star was previously slammed by fans after he unveiled the contents of his £19 fry up at his Savoy Grill restaurant.

And one customer left a furious review online after forking out £23 for steak and chips at York and Albany in London.

But the chef has faced a further battering after sharing a video of his take on the seaside favourite, available to takeaway from his restaurant in Battersea, South-West London.

The caption said: "You can’t beat a London House classic.... and this one’s to go !!"

The video showed a piece of fish being dipped in flour and batter before being dropped into the fryer.

A basket of chips is submerged in oil, while the fish fries, before being taken out and covered in salt.

But people weren't left very impressed by the next part of the video, which shows the dish being plated into a takeaway box.

Seven chips are added to the box, alongside a portion of tartar sauce and mushy peas, a lemon, curry sauce, before the crispy looking fish is added.

The TV chef is well known for his own blistering attacks, and fans didn't shy away from dishing out their own in the comment section on Twitter.

One said: "Fish batter doesn't even look good, stingy af with the chips and mushy peas and all- bet it costs 10x that of the local chippy and isn't even half as nice."

A second joked: "Where’s the rest of the chips? I’ve seen more chips in a seagulls mouth!!!""

Another wrote: "£18.50?? I mean if it came with 8 or 9 chips I'd think about but 7 is taking the piss."

A fourth said: "There were 9 chips in the bowl and 7 in the box. So for eighteen quid you're also feeding the staff.

And the fish looks like it's been on a diet as well. Don't think I'll bother."

Others joked: "The fish must still be alive because it seems to have eaten the rest of the chips," while another added: "

But some defended the portion, arguing: "It’s a high establishment restaurant not your local chippy round the corner."

A second added: "That is the best looking fish and chips I have ever seen. Can’t wait to get back to UK and try it."
