Gordon Ramsay reveals love for Glasgow Rangers on new BBC quiz show

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has admitted his love for Rangers on a new quiz show.

The 54-year-old, who was born in Johnstone, revealed his sentiment towards the Ibrox side on new BBC show Bank Balance, which he hosts, last night, the Daily Record reports.

He did so after two contestants were asked to name one team that competed in the 2020/2021 Scottish Premiership and, after appearing not to have a clue about Scottish football at all, responded with 'Glasgow Rangers' as their answer.

The correct answer saw the pair move a step closer to scooping the £100,000 jackpot.

And it prompted Ramsay to say "Glasgow Rangers, a team near and dear to my heart", before one of the contestants replied with "well I'll be a Glasgow Rangers fan now".

The comment from the chef was naturally met with enthusiasm by the club's support on social media.

One fan tweeted: "Gordon Ramsay saying Glasgow Rangers a team nearest and dearest to his heart yass big man."

Ramsay had a trial for Rangers during a testimonial match and trained with them for a few months as a youngster after being spotted by a Rangers scout while playing for Oxford United's youth team.
