Gordon Ramsay promises to make Scots 'star at home' with 'perfect' pancake flipping technique for Shrove Tuesday

Gordon Ramsay has revealed the perfect technique to flipping pancakes for those of us looking to impress our family this Shrove Tuesday.

As the end of the working day draws to a conclusion, a number of Scots parents will be looking for ways to show off to their kids before Pancake Day comes to an end.

And the Scots chef has promised to make them the ‘star at home’ with his method of making pancakes.

He posted a short clip of his technique on his Twitter account earlier today.

Gordon firstly adds 100g of flour, 300ml of milk and two eggs into a bowl before whisking. The mixture should then be left to rest for 15 minutes.

He can then be seen spooning one ladle of the mixture into a hot and lightly oiled pan - he urged Scots to roll it around the pan.

In order to get the perfect flip, the Kitchen Nightmare’s star advises Scots to tap the pan against the hob twice before shaking the half-cooked mixture towards the edge.

He then tells cooks to push the pan away from them and then flip back with a pull of the wrist to cook the other side.

Gordon adds: “Leave that on there for 30 seconds so it is nice and crispy”

The TV chef then adds on the toppings of raspberry, strawberry and honey before applying a tiny squeeze of lemon juice and a scattering of lemon zest.

Captioning the clip on Twitter, he wrote: “Happy Pancake Day. Here’s a great way to make sure you’re a star at home today flipping your pancakes! A great half term at home activity!”
