Gordon Ramsay panics his sleeping cat has died while playing with young son

Gordon Ramsay was caught in a panic and feared his pet cat had died while playing a game of chase with his youngest at home.

The Scots TV chef, 53, had been enjoying a playful afternoon with his one-year-old lookalike son Oscar at their Cornwall property on Friday.

But the father-of-five was left panicking during the rough and tumble and thought their sleeping family cat was dead - and even prodded it to check if it was alive.

The Kitchen Nightmares star took to Instagram to share a video as he playfully asked his son: “Excuse me, hey, where's your shoe?"

The clip showed the TV star dad dashing after his toddler son – who at one point collided with an armchair where the family cat lay sleeping.

Gordon grew alarmed when the feline didn’t react to the jolt of the chair – and immediately jumped to the worst case scenario.

He could be heard saying: "Oops, the cat... Is it dead? Is it..."

The chef’s hand could then be seen gently poking the grey animal who eventually woke up.

Gordon then gushed: "Oh no, it's alive - thank god for that!"

The Scots chef caused controversy with locals after he whisked his wife Tana and children Meghan, 21, Jack and Holly, 20, Tilly, 18 and one-year-old Oscar to one of the family's three Cornwall homes at the start of the coronavirus outbreak.
