Gordon Ramsay fronts Stay At Home campaign after moving family to Cornwall

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has been branded a hypocrite after filming a video urging people to Stay At Home as part of a campaign on YouTube - when he has fled his London home to stay in Cornwall.

Gordon and his family, who usually live in the capital, have moved to Cornwall to stay in their £4million holiday home during the coronavirus lockdown.

Locals have complained about the move saying he is setting a bad example and is putting the local population at risk.

Authorities have been urging people to stay away from their holiday homes since the start of the pandemic.

Gordon has now filmed a video for YouTube's Stay At Home campaign, reports The Mirror.

In the video he says: "Hi, I'm Gordon Ramsay. Now in order to stop this dreadful virus, we need to stay at home."

He adds: "What do we do? Let's cook along together. I've got loads of exciting recipes on my YouTube channel. Have fun and thank you."

One person replied: "@GordonRamsay Just a quick reminder that appearing on the youtube "stay at home #WithMe " campaign while actually being at your holiday home in Cornwall...

"Putting locals at risk and disobeying government advice, makes you a massive f******g hypocrite."

Another wrote: "Stay home and cook no sorry sod off on holiday to Cornwall during a pandemic. He has lost my respect..."

A third added: "Not the best person to highlight this. He literally ignored lockdown and moved his family to Cornwall."

One neighbour previously told MirrorOnline: "It's a scary time. I think it's up to celebrities to set a good example, not run off to their country homes."

Responding to the previous complaints Gordon has accused locals of 'whinging'.
