Gordon Ramsay divides fans with eye-watering £75 beef wellington you have to cook at home

Gordon Ramsay has left fans divided after launching a £75 beef wellington - that customers have to make and cook at home.

The Scottish TV chef, 54, is turning his hugely popular food into a meal-kit, so that diners can gorge on a posh dish at home during lockdown while restaurants are closed.

The menu includes all the ingredients to assemble a beef wellington, including beef fillet, puff pastry, egg yolks, mushroom duxelles, red wine jus, butter, double cream and potatoes.

However, the eye-watering £75 cost of the meal-kit has raised some eyebrows - with one person saying they would expect Gordon "to cook it for and wash the dishes" for the price.

The celebrity chef announced the arrival of his latest venture during a video clip posted on Instagram.

While some people were thrilled by the news, others were less than impressed with the price of the meal-kit.

One person wrote: "For £75 Gordon I’d want you to cook it for me and wash the dishes chief."

Another commented: "It’ll only cost £1550."

A third wrote "I'm surprised at the cost, £75. The actual high technique part still needs to be done by you."

Another penned: "But they haven't made anything.... except cracked egg yolks and found the meat? Regardless I hope that the £45 profit is going to his staff..."

Meanwhile, others were in support of the cost of the mouth-watering dish, with some desperate to try out the beef wellington.

One wrote: "Oh this sounds effing delish! ... yes please!"

Another commented: "You’re paying for convenience and the novelty of the experience."

A third wrote: "bruh they literally made everything and give you the best ingredients you clearly don't have respect for the cost of quality."
