Gordon Ramsay and Gino D'Acampo 'always at loggerheads' off camera on travel show

Gordon Ramsay and Gino D'Acampo were 'at loggerheads' during filming of their ITV travel show, says Fred Sirieix.

The First Dates star admits he was the peacekeeper within the trio whenever the two TV chefs found themselves in arguments. This comes after Gino revealed he quit their popular ITV travel show, Gordon, Gino & Fred: Road Trip due to scheduling conflicts as he wanted to protect his friendships.

While the news of Gino's departure is a sad blow for fans of the show, ITVX confirmed a new series featuring the beloved trio will air later this year on the channel. Speaking about the behind the scenes antics, Fred revealed Gordon and Gino found themselves in arguments as the Scots chef 'is always right'.

"Well the problem is Gordon is always right and Gino is never wrong, and that includes everything. So, when they get at loggerheads, I’m just right in the middle. I’m definitely the peacemaker, both on camera and off camera, and in the group chat it’s just insane," Fred told the Daily Star.

Gino announced his departure last week, as he told fans on Instagram: “Last week I decided not to film any more Gordon, Gina and Fred Road trips. The reason is very simple – nothing to do with Gordon or Fred, the friendship is very strong.

“It’s just because we can’t get the dates together and sometimes when we do get the dates together they get changed and it causes a lot of problems for me because I have other stuff that I have to do.

“Personal problems as well because when I have to change things with my family it is very complicated and also because contracts.”

It was later reported that Gino left the show after a series of his 'demands' weren't met during contract negotiations, which left Fred and Gordon "frustrated". A source told The Sun: "Contrary to popular belief, the row wasn’t over money — all three men get paid exactly the same."

They continued: "Instead, Gino, who loves a party, wanted all sorts of caveats put into his contract around working hours so that he could effectively stay up late and have a bit of a lie-in before filming. He doesn’t like early starts — and made that clear.

"He also didn’t want to work more than six months of the year which, given the tight schedules they all have, was never going to be practical. Gordon and Fred are obviously quite frustrated and couldn’t kowtow to his requests. It all seemed a bit ludicrous. At the moment things are pretty tense between them.”
