Gordon Elliott to have first Cheltenham runners since ban expired

Gordon Elliott will have his first runners at Cheltenham on Friday since his ban over a photo of him sitting on a dead horse expired.

The Meath handler brings a strong team to Prestbury Park for the Showcase meeting, which takes place on Friday and Saturday.

Elliott has four runners on Friday, all of who will be ridden by Davy Russell, and three more on Saturday, who will be partnered by Jordan Gainford.

The first of Elliott's runners is Mars Harper, who runs in the Ballymore Novices' Hurdle, but he looks to have a tough task to beat odds-on favourite Camprond.

Buddy Rich was no match for Cape Gentleman at Punchestown ten days ago and he is back in action in the squareintheair.com Novices' Chase.

Meanwhile, Calagogo runs in the 888Sport What's Your Thinking Novices' Hurdle, for which another Meath trainer in John McConnell has the favourite in Bardenstown Lad.

And Top Bandit is Elliott's last runner on Friday. He runs in the final race on the card, the Foundation Developments Maiden Hurdle.
