Gordon Elliott gives Apple's Jade, Delta Work and Samcro entries for Festival Trials Day

Gordon Elliott has the last opportunity to have runners at Cheltenham before March in his sights, with Apple's Jade, Delta Work and Samcro in contention for Festival Trials Day.

The top trainer at the big spring meeting in 2017 and 2018 has given the 11-time Grade One-winning mare, last year's RSA Chase runner-up and the 2018 Ballymore Novices' Hurdle hero the option of an early trip to Prestbury Park.

None of the trio and many of their talented stablemates have travelled over to compete at the track before the main event, but Elliott has spied the Cleeve Hurdle, Cotswold Chase and the Timeform Novices' Handicap Chase at the five-day stage.

A different schedule has already been a hit with Apple's Jade this season, a trip hunting the instigating factor of her resounding return to form at Leopardstown over Christmas.

Michael O'Leary and Gordon Elliott were delighted Apple's Jade was back to her brilliant best over Christmas (PA)

While a potential clash with Stayers' Hurdle favourite Paisley Park is in the reckoning for the superstar mare, Delta Work, back to the form on the same Irish card, may go on trial for the Gold Cup.

Delta Work won the Savills Chase on December 28, 2019 (PA)

Nine entries have been received for the Paddy Power Cotswold Chase, with Santini, Bristol De Mai and De Rasher Counter in the list.

Slate House, Top Ville Ben, Mister Whitaker, Ex Patriot and Alpha Des Obeaux were also put in the £100,000 contest earlier.

Paisley Park (maroon and blue) is looking to record back-to-back victories in the galliardhomes.com Cleeve Hurdle (PA)

If The Cap Fits, Summerville Boy and L'Ami Serge are in a potential field of 11 for the galliardhomes.com Cleeve Hurdle.

Samcro has been given the intriguing option of competing in a handicap for the first time, over 2m 4f, a class two race which has 24 entries.

In 2019, two Trials Day winners, Paisley Park and Frodon, went on to triumph in their respective races at The Festival.
