Former Rangers defender Gordan Petric has dismissed Scotland's chances against Serbia tomorrow night and predicts an easy win for his country.
The Scots will qualify for their first major tournament for 22 years with a win in Belgrade.
But Petric, who was born in the city and represented Yugoslavia before it’s break up in the early 90s, doesn’t believe the country where he spent seven years of his club career has what it takes to topple the hosts.
The centre back, who also turned out for Dundee United and Hearts after his Ibrox stint, points to Serbia’s stunning semi-final victory in Norway and is confident a similar display will see them through to next summer’s finals.
And he also dismissed the danger posed by left back Andy Robertson.
"If we play as well as we did in Norway, Scotland will provide us with no problems and we win.
"It's going to be an interesting game with no fans and just the one-off game rather than the usual two-legged matches. It means the match will be played differently.
"Everyone in Scotland thinks Andy Robertson can win the game for them. I agree he is the best left back in the world right now, but he is a defender and he can't harm us from there.
"I think both national teams are strong, but we have the better quality of player and I believe this will be proved on the pitch when we meet."
