Gorbals charity shop's call for designer clothes to help raise funds for Glasgow hospice

Glasgow is being urged to help bring an extra dose of glamour to the east end to raise funds for the Glasgow hospice.

Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice are asking people to donated unwanted designer clothes ahead of their special high-end clothes and collectibles weekend.

The charity asks for donations of shoes, handbags and clothes from big name brands.

Rhona Baillie, Chief Executive of The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, said: “We have just recently opened our hospice shop in the Gorbals and it’s already proving to be a success.

"But we want to mark its official opening with something special while raising vital funds to help us keep on caring for Glasgow people at their most difficult times.

“You can really help us. If you have any designer or high-end clothes or items which are just gathering dust, or any collectibles, such as books or ornaments which you don’t need more, please consider donating them.

"We want to champion recycling and ethical clothing in Glasgow as much as we can.”

You can call them on 0141 429 9817 to arrange a drop-off or pick-up.

Alternatively you can  drop your items into any one of  17 hospice shops throughout Glasgow and mark them “designer weekend”.
