GOP Rep. Expresses Distrust For Trump's DOJ While Stating Those Involved in Epstein's Crimes Should Be 'Publicly Hung'

A Republican legislator told journalists that all accomplices to the crimes of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein should be publicly executed.

Tennessee Rep. Tim Burchett spoke to journalists on Tuesday, indicating that he does not trust the Trump administration Department of Justice's statements pertaining to the Epstein files.

"I'm over it. It disgusts me," Burchett told CNN's Manu Raju. "I'm big on clarity and transparency, and that's a good reason people don't trust government, either party."

"Should there be an investigation or a special counsel investigation?" Burchett was asked by a reporter.

"I don't know. I'm not an attorney. Just find them guilty and hang them publicly. That's not over the top either. I'm over it. It disgusts me," Burchett added.

"I'm big on clarity and transparency. That's a big reason people don't trust government, either party," he continued.

"But you don't trust what the Justice Department is saying?" asked a reporter.

"No, I don't. I don't trust them," Burchett replied.

Social media users took to online platforms to praise Burchett's candid responses and agree with his sentiments.

"Burchett just made it clear: no more trials for elite predators, only consequences. He's saying what millions think but no one in power dares admit," said one user.

"More need to say this. The lack of justice will allow our nation to continue to decay," another added.

"The last DOJ let Epstein die and buried the client list. That mess is now the current DOJ's burden, and they owe the public real answers, not more silence," said a third.

"A lot of people don't believe the Justice Department because they said one thing and they're doing another. You can't blame Burchett or others. The solution is transparency," added a fourth.

The GOP is seemingly divided over the Trump administration's handling of the Epstein files, with many MAGA supporters turning on the administration for their handling of the case, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, Sen. John Kennedy and even House Speaker Mike Johnson.
