Goose Fair 2022 weather forecast after rain-hit first day

Goose Fair visitors braved the rain as the event's much-anticipated return got off to a damp and soggy start. Nottingham's historic fair returned to the Forest Recreation Ground on Friday afternoon (September 30) for the first time since 2019.

Gates opened at 4pm and the fair will enjoy the longest run in its history to make up for its absence in 2020 and 2021. It will be on-site for 10 days until Sunday, October 9. While visitors and stall holders argued that the unfriendly weather did not spoil the fun, better weather is forecast ahead - but there is still a chance of rain.

On the second day of the fair (Saturday, October 1), forecasters have given out a mostly cloudy day with sunny intervals by late morning. Light showers are expected between 1pm and 2pm with highs of 16C.

Met Office forecasters predict Sunday (October 2) will be largely dry with some sunshine. There could also be the odd isolated shower. Monday and Tuesday (October 3 and 4) are expected to be largely cloudy. Heavy rain is however given out for Wednesday morning (October 4), with lighter showers from the early afternoon.
