Goose Fair 2022: All the fun of fair's second day as brighter weather arrives

Crowds have descended to enjoy all the fun at the 2022 Nottingham Goose Fair as brighter weather blessed the second day of the popular event. Grey skies and rain dominated for much of the first day of the Forest Recreation Ground event, the first that has been held since 2019.

But whether looking for the thrill of a white-knuckle ride, or simply the warmth of a portion of mushy peas, the second day of the Goose Fair proved to be as busy as ever. People enjoyed the huge variety of rides on offer, including Void, one of the latest additions to Goose Fair's offering for thrill seekers.

The usual wide array of food and beverages were also on offer, as well as a huge range of other activities for those who didn't fancy the break-neck speeds of the Goose Fair rides. Among the stallholders at this year's event are Terry Burdett, who runs the mushy peas stall that his father started in 1946, and the famous 'Cocks on Sticks' man, who has long been delighting crowds with his cheeky chewy lollipops.

Around 400,000 people are expected to enjoy the rides, funfair food and the chance to win a huge cuddly toy. Goose Fair is having an extended run this year, with visitors able to sample the delights until Sunday, October 9.
