Google travel hack lets you easily find the cheapest flights when booking online

An entrepreneur has invented a new app which lets you easily compare all available flights so you can get the best deal.

If you've ever looked to book a flight online, then you've almost certainly been on a price comparison website such as Skyscanner.

They are the easiest way to check which airline is flying when, and for what price .

The only problem is not all airlines are listed on all price comparison websites.

JetBlue pulled fares from search engine Vayama in 2017, Delta won't let itself be featured on a number of apps, and Southwest does not appear on Google's price comparison, Airfare Watchdog reports.

As a result you can never be quite sure you're getting the best deal without checking individual airline's websites first.

In a bid to address the issue Jaideep Patil has built Travel Arrow, a Chrome Extension which aims to simplify the process.

“Southwest Airlines is the 2nd largest US airline but doesn’t display fares on Google Flights," he posted on Reddit at the end of October.

"I made TravelArrow to automatically convert your Google Flight searches onto Southwest to compare deals,” the account avetisyan818 posted on Reddit earlier this week.

The add-on will force Google Flight searches to immediately include results from Kayak, Skyscanner and Southwest Airlines, SF Gate reports.

As well as checking all your options, there are other ways to maximise your chances of getting a cheap flight.

Skyscanner previously shared top tips to bag cheap flights, include research that shows Wednesday tends to be the best day to bag cheap flights online, while Mondays can be the most expensive.

Friday has consistently shown to be the cheapest day of the week to fly from the UK, according to Skyscanner data across the last five years, while Tuesday tends to be the most expensive day.

If you're lucky enough to live within an easy distance of more than one airport, you may want to consider alternative departures as this could save you money.

For example, a family of four flying to Tenerife could save over £300 by opting for London Luton rather than London Stansted.
