Google Stadia adds 10 more games a day before release date

Google has added ten more games to the line-up for its Stadia games streaming service, nearly doubling the number of titles players will have access to.

The change in the line-up – which takes the total from 12 to 22 – was announced the day before the service is released.

It includes the first sport titles to come to Google's game streaming platform, as well as a range of other brand new titles. The company had been criticised for the relatively small number of games that will be available at launch.

In all, the update brings: Attack on Titan: Final Battle 2, Farming Simulator 2019, Final Fantasy XV, Football Manager 2020, Grid 2019, Metro Exodus, NBA 2K20, Rage 2, Trials Rising and Wolfenstein: Youngblood.

Stadia boss Phil Harrison suggested that the new games had come because developers had them ready more quickly than planned.

"We were perhaps a little conservative in our forecast last week and (most importantly) our partners did an awesome job getting last few kinks ironed out and through testing," he wrote on Twitter.

The 12 games already announced are: Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Gylt, Just Dance 2020, Kine, Mortal Kombat 11, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Red Dead Redemption 2, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Thumper and Tomb Raider 2013. It also has Destiny 2: The Collection and Samurai Shodown, both of which come free with the Stadia Pro subscription.

Stadia is released on 19 November. It is Google's attempt to build a streaming games service, which will allow people to play over the internet, rather than having a console in their own home, and as such competes with other platforms such as Microsoft's xCloud.
