Google signs for more London office space

Google has added another large office to its London estate to ensure it has enough space to expand into before its King’s Cross HQ opening, the Evening Standard has learnt.

Property sources said the search-engine behemoth has signed for around 140,000 square feet at Euston Tower near Warren Street station.

Google, which has more than 5000 employees in the UK, already has a number of offices in the capital.

However, the new site will provide comfort that there is extra room to grow into if needed. The new King’s Cross HQ is expected to open in the next few years.

Businesses are rushing to take buildings amid concerns City and West End office supply is running low.

Euston Tower is owned by British Land, but the latest deal is a sublet from real-estate firm Mapeley, which was advised by property agents Cushman & Wakefield and Edward Charles & Partners.

They declined to comment, as did Google and its real-estate adviser CBRE.
