Leaked Pixel 4 promo video shows how new Google phone could beat iPhone 11

The Pixel 4 is rumoured to be only weeks away from release, and now a leaked promo video suggests the camera on Google's latest smartphone could give the iPhone 11 a run for its money.

Google released a teaser image of the Pixel 4 in June, revealing that it will have a square camera module on the back - almost identical to the one on the iPhone 11.

The picture also appeared to confirm rumours that the Pixel 4 will be the first  Pixel phone  with a dual-lens rear camera.

Now it's claimed that this dual camera system will be comprised of one 12-megapixel and one 16-megapixel sensor - a step up from the iPhone 11's two 12-megapixel cameras.

The focus (excuse the pun) of these two camera modules is slightly different.

The iPhone 11 has one wide lens and one "ultra-wide" lens, which captures four times more scene, allowing you to quickly switch between the two frames.

The Pixel 4 has one standard and one telephoto lens, according to rumours, which will allow you zoom in 8 times to take clear shots of objects in the far distance.

The Pixel 4 also appears to have one other yet-to-be-identified sensor within the camera array, which some have suggested could be a "Time-of-Flight" 3D sensor for creating depth effects.

Like the iPhone 11, the Pixel 4 will boast "Night Sight" to help you take photos in the dark, according to a leaked official promo clip obtained by Pro Android (see above).

There is also reportedly a new "Motion Mode" will help Pixel 4 fans capture action shots.

As for the selfie camera, the Pixel 4 is expected to have a single-lens module like the iPhone 11.

Google confirmed last month that the Pixel 4 will have "Motion Sense" gesture controls, (demonstrated in the video, which will allow you to control the phone with a wave of your hand.

There's also a face-unlocking system similar to Apple's FaceID.

Apple meanwhile, is focusing on allowing iPhone 11 users to create special effects with their selfie cameras, with tools such as portrait lighting, slo-mo video and "memoji".

Other rumours and leaked pictures suggest the Pixel 4 will have a thick bezel along the top of the display to house the various sensors, replacing the  Pixel 3's much-maligned "notch"  .

The Pixel 4 will have a 5.7-inch screen and the Pixel 4 XL will have a 6.3-inch display. There will be no headphone jack or fingerprint reader - with rumours pointing to an under-display reader.

Google is tipped to release its new phones in October, with serial leaker Evan Blass recently tweeting an image of what appears to be the Pixel 4 showing 15 October on the screen.

Prices are expected to start around £750.
