Google Maps trick lets you see which restaurants are still delivering near you

With the UK now in its third week of coronavirus lockdown, many bored Brits are yearning for a delicious meal out.

While it’s likely to be a while before restaurants re-open, many outlets are still offering a delivery service.

But with sanctions in place that mean we can only leave the house once a day for exercise, it can be tricky to know exactly which restaurants are still delivering in your area.

Now, Google has launched a new feature in its Maps app to highlight exactly which restaurants near you are still offering a delivery service.

The feature is available now on both the iOS and Android version of the Google Maps app, although you may need to update your app to access it.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to see which restaurants near you are still offering delivery amid the coronavirus pandemic.

How to see which restaurants are still delivery on Google Maps

1. Open the Google Maps app

2. You should now see several new shortcuts under the Search bar - tap the Delivery option

3. Google Maps will then display the restaurants near you that are still delivering, both in Map View and as a list

4. Use the toggles at the top of the screen to refine your search, including which cuisine you fancy and rating

5. Tap on any restaurant and you’ll be given options to view the menu or contact the restaurant
