Google is updating some of its most underrated Google Pixel features to make sure you get the most out of all the new hardware it unveiled at the Made By Google event — including the Google Pixel 10.
The first change is aimed at making it much easier to get the most out of your new phone as soon as you have it out of the box. In the past, Google offered the Pixel Tips feature that included guides, hints and tips to help you learn how to use your phone.
However, In a recent blog post (via Android Authority,) Google revealed that it was refreshing the Pixel Tips app with a new name, My Pixel, and a Material 3 Expressive design.
In My Pixel, you'll be able to learn how to utilize all the features on your new phone, including showcase cards for both the Camera app and Google Gemini. As with the current version, if you tap on either of the cards, they’ll take you to the relevant app while also explaining what each button does and how to use it.
The My Pixel app also features a “Get Started” section, which is designed to cover the basics of using a Pixel phone. You can also use the app to learn how to get the most out of your Pixel phone, including extra tips for the Camera app and the Google Pixel’s host of AI features.
It is worth noting that the tabs for Pixel support and Google Store are currently only available in the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, and Taiwan for now. There are plans to increase the number of countries in time, and any location not on that list will still have access to the redesigned Pixel Tips app.
Google is offering more features at a glance
It isn’t just the My Pixel that’s coming to phones, as users have also spotted a change that appears to mimic Samsung’s Now Bar.
In a recent post on X by user Kwekutuffour200, the homescreen's At a Glance shows off stock performance and, in another post, soccer scores. While we don’t know what kind of information (or sports) will be covered, Android Authority spotted both soccer and cricket.
There’s no doubt that the Google Pixel 10 series is already on its way to landing a place on the best phones you can buy. These new features will also go a long way to improving the experience of using the phones, for both the newer devices and older ones.
