With an estimated 3.2 billion people using Chrome as their main browser, it is the most popular in the world.
The new version is called Chrome 97.0.4692.99, and fixes 26 different issues in the browser.
One vulnerability stands out amongst the rest as the most severe rating Google can give an issue with its browser. It is named CVE-2022-0289.
Users with automatic updates turned on will likely receive the new software soon.
Those who don't have automatic updates turned on can manually update it.
To see your current Chrome version, go into the 'Settings Menu', followed by 'Help' and then 'About Google'.
If it says Chrome 97.0.4692.99 or later, then you are fine.
If you are using an older version, Chrome should automatically check for updates and highlight it.
You will then be able to install and download the new version.
You will need to restart the browser once the installation is finished to complete the process.
