Google has announced that Google Chrome has been successfully hacked as it discovers 30 security flaws–seven of which pose a “high” threat to users.

In a blog post, Google revealed that a new update will make improvements for Windows, Mac, and Linux, to fix the security issues after the hack.

Google released a list of the fixes, but said: “Access to bug details and links may be kept restricted until a majority of users are updated with a fix.

“We will also retain restrictions if the bug exists in a third party library that other projects similarly depend on, but haven’t yet fixed.”

Google will update the web browser to protect against hacks over the next few days–but there’s a way to manually update Chrome yourself, if you don’t want to wait.

How to update Google Chrome

If you want to make sure your browser is protected right away, you can manually update Chrome.

To update Google Chrome, open the browser and click the three vertical dots in the top right-hand corner of the window.

Hover over “Help” and then press “About Google Chrome.”

Once this page is open, Chrome will automatically update–but users need to wait for the update to finish before pressing “Relaunch,” which will restart the browser and complete the update.
