A horse tried to bite a rival on his way to winning at race at the Qatar Goodwood Festival.
Magical Wish came with a storming late challenge in the World Pool Handicap, the final contest on Wednesday's card.
But as the 12-1 shot galloped alongside Be Prepared, he tried to take a chunk out of that runner's cheekpieces.
The fluffy headgear, which trainers sometimes put on their horses to help them concentrate, took Magical Wish's eye.
Footage shows the five-year-old going for the bite of the third-placed horse.
Jockey Pat Dobbs was nudging him along at the time to make their winning challenge.
After the incident, Magical Wish ran on strongly to collar the leader Hieronymus by a head.
"He's hungry!" trainer Richard Hannon laughed when interviewed on Racing TV after the narrow triumph.
"We weren't sure whether we were going to run him. I spoke to Tim (Palin, from owners Middleham Park Racing), I thought the ground might be a little bit too soft but he's been dropped a little bit in the weights and he's been due a good run.
"He's had a couple of unlucky runs, especially here, where he has been second and third and I'm very pleased to see him get his head in front today."
The feature race of the day, the Group 1 Qatar Sussex Stakes, went to the Andrew Balding-trained Alcohol Free (4-1).
Oisin Murphy's mount was well supported by punters and had too much firepower for the favourite Poetic Flare.
The Group 1 Qatar Nassau Stakes takes centre stage on Thursday, featuring a clash between Aidan O'Brien's three-year-old Joan Of Arc and Audarya.
