The one who makes most appeal in the six-furlong cavalry charge is Gunmetal, ridden by Harry Bentley.
He ran better than the bare form indicates when sixth in the Wokingham at Royal Ascot last time after previously catching the eye at York.
The Stewards’ Cup Sprint (1.50pm), a consolation race for those who did not make the cut for the big one, also looks wide open.
But Tommy G appeals as he runs off a mark 3lb lower than when winning the race last year under champion jockey Silvestre de Sousa, who is back in the saddle on him for only the second time since.
Mark Johnston and Frankie Dettori can combine to win the Summer Handicap (2.25pm) with Charles Kingsley.
Enbihaar and Dramatic Queen have already had two great tussles and meet again in the Lillie Langtry Stakes (3pm), but Pilaster can upstage them.
