Goodfellas Belfast sends well wishes to businesses affected by Kennedy Way arson

Italian restaurant Goodfellas has assured its loyal customers that they are open for business after an arson attack this morning.

Three businesses in the Kennedy Way unit were damaged on Sunday 3 November after a fire started in Glendale Carpets, leaving the property "gutted".

The local West Belfast favourite offered its well wishes to those affected and let its regulars know that their doors are open this evening.

In a statement they said: "A tragic fire occurred last night in Martin's Yard. Our thoughts are with all our neighbouring businesses affected by this so close to such a busy time of year.

"We are open as normal, however, the car park is not available. Please take care when parking on Kennedy Way. If you need any assistance please ring in advance."

Police are investigating the blaze as an arson attack and have appealed for witnesses to come forward with information.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "I want to appeal to anyone who was in the area last night and who saw any suspicious activity, or anyone who may have captured any suspicious person/persons in the area on their dash cam, to call us.

"I would also appeal to anyone who has information they believe may assist our investigation to pick up the phone and tell our detectives at Musgrave what you know by calling 101, and quote reference 95 of 03/11/19."
