Goodbye, Vine: the most memorable six-second videos of all time

Twitter announced on Thursday that it will soon kill off one of the weirdest and funniest parts of the internet.

Vine, the six-second looping video app launched in 2012, will be “discontinued”, its owner Twitter announced in a post on Medium.

“To all the creators out there – thank you for taking a chance on this app back in the day. To the many team members over the years who made this what it was – thank you for your contributions. And of course, thank you to all of those who came to watch and laugh every day,” read the announcement.

So let’s pay tribute to the most creative video platform on the internet, where many viners were young people of color, cute animals set to music ruled and the more bizarre (and sometimes NSFW) the better.
