Veronica Wadley is stepping down after seven years as editor of the Evening Standard. Ms Wadley, who was formerly a deputy editor of the Daily Mail, is to pursue new interests in journalism.
"New" interests in journalism? How about taking an interest in journalism at all? It would make such a change from pursuing vendettas with the help of a handful of cronies. And elsewhere in "London's Quality Newspaper":

Good luck, Geordie. You've some good journalists there. I'd just let them get on with it, if I were you: after all, most of them haven't had much chance to do that lately. And don't forget to put the cat out.
