A good Samaritan was killed while handing out $20 bills for meals in a restaurant, police said.

Craig Brewer, 41, was shot in the head during a fight at a Waffle House in Gainesville, according to a statement from the Alachua County Sheriff's Office.

Police were called to the scene and arrested the 25-year-old suspected shooter, Ezekiel Hicks.

Witnesses told the officers that Brewer was picking up customers' tabs and handing out $20 bills before getting into an argument with a female acquaintance of Hicks, reported NBC news.

It's said the woman got angry because Brewer had not paid for her meal.
