Good Samaritan praised after helping reunite young boy with his family

Police have praised a Good Samaritan who stopped to help a young boy who had become distressed while cycling on a 'dangerous' road.

The lady noticed the youngster was cycling on the main Victoria Road, Strabane , where there was no footpath and he was becoming 'distressed and confused'.

After turning her car around the lady stopped with the boy and helped him and his bike into the car and phoned the police who came to meet them.

Praising the woman for her kind gesture, a PSNI Strabane spokesperson posted on Facebook : "We were able to reunite the boy with his family and the story has a happy ending.

"However, if this lady had not of stopped with the young boy who knows how serious the situation could have become.

"We as a community need to look after each other, young and old and it’s great to see such acts of kindness in our area. We thank you!"
