Good Samaritan attacked after stopping her car to help man lying in road

A Good Samaritan was attacked by three men armed with a brick after stopping her car to help someone she believed was in need.

The victim, aged in her 40s, was driving in the Derrycoole Way area of Rathcoole, Northern Ireland, yesterday morning when she saw a man lying in the road while another man appeared to be assisting him.

After stepping out of her car she was grabbed from behind and threatened by a third man, reports BelfastLive.

She managed to get back into her car and begin to drive away when one assailant smashed her window with a brick, police said.

Inspector Patty said it was a "terrifying ordeal" for the woman who was left badly shaken.
