International networking group the Mums In Business Association is launching its first evening networking group in the Weston Creek area to help empower and inspire business mothers and business women to grow and develop their businesses.
With two successful morning groups already operating in Gungahlin and Queanbeyan, the demand for an evening event was much higher than expected, prompting this next step.

Event co-ordinators Liz Walton, Patricia Falcetta, Jane Allen and Davina Brown are excited to add the new group to the calendar. Mum of six and Liberal MLA Giulia Jones will be a keynote speaker at the launch, on September 10.
"The groups are designed so women with children feel welcome, and are comfortable to discuss the joys and challenges of running a business and being a mum," Liz said. "Networking groups are a great way to build your business, learn from expert guest speakers and connect and share with others,"
The group is open to any women in business who would like to attend, not just mums.
"You don't have to have young children or in fact be a mum to come along," Jane said. "My daughter is a young adult and has left home, but I'm involved because I wish a group like this existed when my daughter was young and I was starting up my personal styling business."
MIBA was created in the UK by sisters, and businesswomen, Leona Burton and Estelle Keeber. They both felt isolated and wanted to connect with other mums in business so started a Facebook page which rapidly developed a loyal following which now stands at more than 33,500. From this they developed MIBA, which now has networking groups in 50 locations around the world - in the UK, Spain, Barbados and Australia.
The MIBA Weston Creek launch will be 7pm to 9pm on Tuesday, September 10 at Beyond Q in Weston. The cost is $28.The association's Facebook group has more information on all its events, at www.facebook.com/groups/MIBACanberraQueanbeyan
