Good news as nine of Edinburgh's favourite restaurants and takeaways join up to Uber Eats

Nine of Edinburgh's favourite restaurants and takeaways are now available for delivery through Uber Eats.

Those working for the app report a rise in eateries joining up across the Scottish capital.

They say they have recently made it easier for restaurants to sign up during Covid-19 lockdown by waiving the activation fee for new members.

With people unable to visit their favourite restaurants during the enforced government shutdown, more and more people are looking for takeaway or delivery alternatives.

And the following nine restaurants are now available through Uber Eats:

  • Javits Takeaway
  • La Zees Piri Piri
  • Hibiki Japanese & Thai
  • Slumdog Delivered Corstorphine
  • Piccolino
  • Boteco Do Brasil
  • Cafe Andamiro
  • Thai Lemongrass Restaurant
  • Marmaris Takeaway

The nine new additions add to more than a dozen Edinburgh eateries already signed up to the service.

These include Dough Pizzeria, Bonnie Burrito, Cafe Piccante, The Shawarma House, Verona, Palmyra Pizza and ranch.

Toussaint Wattinne, General Manager of Uber Eats in the UK, said: “Edinburgh has a fantastic restaurant scene, and it’s brilliant that Uber Eats can connect customers to these amazing restaurants.

"Not only is there plenty of isolation food inspiration, but through ordering, you can help support local businesses when they need it most.”
