If you tuned into Good Morning Britain today, you might have noticed Susanna Reid was joined by a new co-host.
Alastair Campbell, Tony Blair’s former spin doctor, is hosting the show alongside Susanna this week, filing the seat of Piers Morgan after his dramatic exit from the show in March.
He is presenting the show throughout Mental Health Awareness Week, which runs from May 10 to May 16.
As well as working in politics and journalism, Alastair is a mental health advocate and has been open in discussing his own battle with depression.

Who is Alastair Campbell?
As The Sun reports, Alastair was born in Yorkshire in 1957 and graduated from Cambridge University in modern languages before going into journalism.
When Tony Blair became leader of the Labour Party, Campbell worked for him first as press secretary, then as official spokesman and director of communications and strategy from 1994 to 2003.
He is now engaged mainly in writing, public speaking and working for mental health charities.
He is also an author, having written a book about his mental health journey named ‘Living Better: How I Learned to Survive Depression.’
The infamous Malcolm Tucker character from BBC series The Thick of It is rumoured to be based on Campbell.
He is now 63 years old and is currently the editor of the pro-EU newspaper The New European.
He also conducts interviews with a variety of high-profile stars for GQ magazine.
Is he married?
As Metro.co.uk reports in March 2021, Alastair and journalist Fiona Millar entered into a civil partnership, having been together for over 40 years.
Alastair met Fiona when he was 21 years old, when they were both on the Mirror training scheme.
In an interview with The Guardian in 2012, he said: "We’ve never married. To me, marriage is partly a religious thing and I’m not religious.
"With Fiona, it’s more about the feminist thing. But there have been times when we’ve thought about it, and Grace [their daughter] is quite keen. Who knows?"
The couple have three children – two sons, Rory and Callum, and their daughter Grace.
