Good Morning Britain viewers were keen to remind Susanna Reid on Wednesday that Piers Morgan wasn't dead.
Piers, 55, left the TV world stunned on Tuesday when he abruptly quit the ITV show - and Susanna was clearly shellshocked too.
The mum-of-three joined Ranvir Singh on the show at 6:30am and she was keen to address Piers' absence.
"A number of people will of course will know the news and many of you will not and will be surprised that Piers Morgan is not here this morning," Susanna began.
"Now, Piers and I have disagreed on many things and that dynamic was one of the things that viewers liked about the programme.

"He is without doubt an outspoken, challenging, opinionative, disruptive broadcaster. He has many critics and he has many fans."
Susanna continued: "You will know that I disagreed with him about Meghan’s interview, he himself clarified his comments about her mental health on the show yesterday.
"There are many voices on GMB and everyone has their say, but now piers has decided to leave the programme. Some of you may cheer, and others will boo.

"He has been my presenting partner Monday to Wednesday for more than five years, and during Brexit and the pandemic and other issues, he has been a voice for many of you and a voice that many of you have railed against."
However, viewers tuning in at home were more interested in the fact that Susanna had a voice and joked that they've never heard it so much.

"Always wondered what Susanna Reid sounded like. #goodmorningbritain," one joked.
Another posted: "Susanna Reid might be able to get a word in today then #goodmorningbritain #GMB," while a third added: "Wow. Susanna actually gets to finish her sentences now. #goodmorningbritain."
But other viewers were keen to remind Susanna and Ranvir that Piers hadn't died, he had simply left his job.

"Susanna is talking like Piers has died, hes only left the show. #goodmorningbritain," one tweeted.
Another viewer posted: "#GoodmorningBritain Susanna smile love nobody died."
"#goodmorningbritain why are you acting like Piers Morgan has died? Susanna Reid is crumbling lol," a third acted.
Piers was pictured outside his London home on Wednesday morning and addressed his shock departure.
"I had a good chat with ITV and we agreed to disagree. I'm just going to take it easy and see how we go," he said.
"I believe in freedom of speech, I believe in the right to be allowed to have an opinion. If people want to believe Meghan Markle, that's entirely their right.
"I don't believe almost anything that comes out of her mouth and I think the damage she's done to the British monarchy and to the Queen at a time when Prince Philip is lying in hospital is enormous and frankly contemptible."
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
