Good Morning Britain viewers in shock as Dr Shola uses the N-word twice

Good Morning Britain viewers were left in shock when a guest used the N-word twice during Monday's episode.

Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu was on the show to discuss whether Swing Low, Sweet Chariot should be banned at rugby matches because of its connection to slavery.

Piers Morgan asked Dr. Shola if this meant the N-word should be banned in rap songs too, which lead to her saying it twice.

She said: "I don't use the N-word, and what I mean is the n***** word.

"I understand rap stars and black youths have almost taken that word and turned it on its head, and appropriated it for themselves.

"What I find really interesting is white people who go: 'Well, if you can use it then I can use it.'

"That tells you they're desperate to use the word n***** - but if it comes from a white person's mouth, it is racist."

Piers and his co-host Susanna Reid did not acknowledge her use of the word.

The Rugby Football Union has announced a review into the use of Swing Low, Sweet Chariot, which is sung by fans during games.

It was originally sung by black slaves in America, believed to be as a way they would communicate with each other.
